Living by God’s Standard

Being bombarded with so many ideas, societal norms and logical facts and reasonings that tells us how to live our lives, telling us seemingly what is right or wrong, with generations coming and going with fresh new ideas and based on society’s judgements and agreements, act on those ideas to life.

With these in mind, all the more should we cling to His Word and know it within our hearts to prepare ourselves, arming ourselves with His Truth to really know what is right in His sight and not what the world says is right in its own eyes, knowledge, wisdom and judgements.

being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.
– Romans 1:29-32 NKJV

But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived. But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them, and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
– 2 Timothy 3:13-15 NKJV

Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! Woe to those  who  are  wise in their own eyes, And prudent in their own sight!
– Isaiah 5:20-21 NKJV

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.
– 2 Timothy 4:3-5 NKJV

For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not bear false witness,” “You shall not covet,” and if there is any other commandment, are all summed up in this saying, namely, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.
– Romans 13:9-10 NKJV

I pray that we would have the desire to know more of God’s Word and keep it in our hearts and minds so as not to be swayed by our thoughts and feelings and society’s standards or beliefs. To stand by His Truth in every circumstance that comes our way, no matter how difficult it may be in our current season.

Here’s a reminder to read His Word and seek His answers according to what you are facing in this current season or chapter in your life ❤️.
