Relying More on Him than Ourselves

Magnifying our problems over our God could make us forget His power and magnificence. The God who has always been the same in the past, present, and coming future.

Let us not forget what He has done through the lives of the people in the bible; with Abraham and through His faith had multitude of descendants, providing Israelites the land of Canaan who they had to take from the giant descendants of Anak, Solomon and his wisdom and riches, David defeating Goliath and eventually being King replacing Saul, and most especially, Jesus sacrificing His life, that God would see past our sins and see us as perfect through Jesus Christ.

It is difficult at times, as feelings of inadequacy, impatience, fear, discouragement, negative thoughts, etc., could divert our attention away from who He is. But I pray for every one of us struggling to maintain and strengthen our faith, and understand that whatever He does is sometimes out of our understanding but know that He controls and holds our future;

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. – Jeremiah 29:11 NKJV

“These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” – John 16:33 NKJV

May we walk in this life continuously trusting in Him, keeping our hearts and mind in check, and in constant prayer for increased faith in His plans.

Trials are intended to make us think, to wean us from the world, to send us to the Bible, to drive us to our knees. – J.C. Ryle
